RCC implementing integrated urban development project

RAJSHAHI, April 10, 2021 (BSS) – Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has been implementing a mega project involving around Taka 3,000 crore for improving living and livelihood condition of its people.

The project titled, “Integrated Urban Infrastructure Development in Rajshahi City” is being implemented aiming to promote the city’s major need-based sector.

City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton revealed this while inspecting various ongoing infrastructure development works including road carpeting and drainage at different areas in the city yesterday afternoon.

He said while enquiring total progress of the works that the project will contribute a lot towards building a modern city.

Liton listed around 69 infrastructural development works will be implemented under the project that includes construction of six flyovers, 60 Bangabandhu Murals, central Shaheed Minar, 17 foot-over bridges and walkways besides water bodies.

He also said 284.86-kilometer road will be constructed through reconstruction of 186.36-kilometer road and widening of other 30.56-kilometer roads.

“Around 41.92-kilometer footpath, 62.07-kilometer walkways, 17 beautification infrastructures, 30 public toilets and four recreational parks will be constructed,” he said, adding that 292.34-kilometer tertiary drains, 59.33-kilometer secondary drains and 4.51-kilometer primary drains will also be constructed.

RCC Ward Councilors Muhammad Kamruzzaman and Nuruzzaman Tuku and Superintending Engineer and Project Director Engineer Nur Islam and other concerned accompanied the mayor during the inspection period.
