Monnujan asks officials to enforce health rules at workplaces
DHAKA, April 9, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian today directed all field-level officials of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) and the Department of Labour to maintain proper health guidelines at workplaces to keep the workers safe from coronavirus (COVID-19).
“All officials of the two departments have to work with the owners and local administrations to enforce health guidelines and ensure shifting arrangements in the factories to maintain production as per the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” she said.
She issued this directive while addressing a virtual meeting on combating the second phase of COVID-19, organized by the Ministry of Labor and Employment yesterday.
KM Abdus Salam, secretary of Ministry of Labour and Employment, conducted the virtual meeting while additional secretaries Rezaul Haque, Sakiun Nahar Begum, Dr Selina Akhter and Jebunnesa Karim, DIFE Inspector General (IG) Md Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Acting Director General of the Department of Labor Abdur Latif Khan and senior officials of the ministry and field level officials of DIFE and the Department of Labor joined the programme.
