Jhenaidah, Narail reach final in women’s hockey
DHAKA, April 8, 2021 (BSS) – Jhenaidah and Narail district teams
reached to the final of Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games women’s
hockey eliminating their respective rivals in the semifinal held today
Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium.
The final match between Jhenaidah and Narail districts will be held
tomorrow at the same venue at 3.30 pm, following the place-deciding
match between Dinajpur and Kishorganj districts at 10.30 am.
In the day’s first semifinal, Jhenaidah district blanked Dinajpur
district by 7-0 goals.
Jesmin Akter Jesi scored four goals and Riva Khatun struck twice
while Annona Biswash netted the solitary goal for Jhenaidah.
In the day’s another semifinal, Narail district managed a
hard-fought solitary goal victory over Kishorganj district.
In the proceeding, Mukta Khatun scored the all-important goal for
Narail converting penalty corner.
