All educational institutions to remain closed amid Corona: Kamal

DHAKA, April 6, 2021 (BSS) – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal
today said all educational institutions along with Qawmi madrasas will
remain closed in the wake of new wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Ensure the government’s announcement to close down all educational
institutions, including Qawmi madrasas, across the country,” he told
reporters after emerging a meeting at his ministry conference room.

He said that everyone would have to follow the government
instruction regarding the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

“Those who will be found guilty for the recent arson attacks on
land offices and other properties will be brought to book,” Kamal
added.

He said local people will suffer long time due to the arson attacks
on land offices as attackers set fire on valuable documents inside the
land offices.

The minister urged the common people to resist all sorts of
vandalism and activities for the greater national interest.

The high level meeting was addressed, among others, by Cabinet
Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam, Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary
Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, secretaries of home ministry, secretaries of health
ministry, Inspection General of Police Dr Benazir Ahmed, Director
General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Chowdhury Abdullah Al
Mamun, DG of Border Guard Bangladesh, DG of Directorate General of
Forces Intelligence (DGFI), Special Branch Chief Md Monirul Islam and
DG Ansar.
