130 people fined for breaching Covid-19 safety rules in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, April 6, 2021 (BSS) – A total 15 mobile courts of the district administration today fined 130 people Taka 51,490 in different upazilas including the district headquarters of the district for breaching Covid-19 safety rules to halt the spread of the lethal virus.

According to district administration sources, 15 teams conducted the raids in different upazilas including the district town in various areas of the district town and fined 130 people Taka 51,490 for not wearing masks, keeping business establishments open as per lockdown rules and moving outside without any reason.

Additional district magistrate Md. Tofazzal Hossain and upazila executive magistrates of different upazilas led the operation teams from this morning to this afternoon.

The mobile courts also distributed masks free of cost among the poor and helpless people.

Additional district magistrate Tofazzal Hossain told BSS that the number of corona infected people is increasing each day as people are reluctant in maintaining health guidelines.

The district administration is conducting mobile courts to create awareness among the people about the spread of COVID-19.

The mobile court will continue to prevent anti-lockdown activities, Tofazzal Hossain added.
