5,70,698 get COVID-19 vaccines in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, April 6, 2021 (BSS) – The total number of coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine recipient citizens rose to 5,70,698 with inoculation of more 1,869 people today in Rangpur division.

Health officials said the daily number of vaccine recipient citizens continues declining in recent days due to inadequacy of COVID-19 vaccines amid the hastily rising infection rate of the deadly virus in the division.

“The 1,869 citizens, who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines today in the division, include 1,078 male and 791 female,” Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS.

The total 5,70,698 citizens vaccinated so far with COVID-19 vaccines include 3,42,611 male and 2,28,087 female of all eight districts in the division.

The vaccine recipient citizens are feeling okay without remarkable side effects except 73 people who experienced temporary adverse events since launching of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign on February 7 in the division.

“The district-wise break-up of 5,70,698 vaccine recipients stands at 1,63,989 in Rangpur, 42,071 in Panchagarh, 72,570 in Nilphamari, 36,224 in Lalmonirhat, 44,506 in Kurigram, 47,399 in Thakurgaon, 1,04,031 in Dinajpur and 59,908 in Gaibandha,” Dr. Ali said.

Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu said everyone must abide by the health directives to contain the hastily rising coronavirus infection rate.
