Boxing event begins
DHAKA, Apr 5, 2021 (BSS)- The boxing event of Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games began from today at Mohammad Ali Boxing Stadium.
Bangladesh Boxing Federation (BBF) vice president Nizamuddin Ahmed Chowdhury formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest. BBF general secretary Mazharul Islam Tuhin was also present in the inauguration ceremony.
A total of 90 men and women boxers from thirty four clubs and associations are competing in the nine events which includes six of men’s and three of women’s.
The men’s events are 49 kg, 52 kg, 56 kg, 60 kg, 64kg and 69 kg while the women’s events are 48 kg, 51 kg and 54 kg.
The preliminary round matches has begun from today while the medal deciding matches will begin from Wednesday (April 7).
