5,68,829 get COVID-19 vaccines in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, April 5, 2021 (BSS) – The total number of coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine recipient citizens rose to 5,68,829 with inoculation of more 4,468 people today in Rangpur division.

Health officials said the daily number of vaccine recipient citizens continues declining in recent days due to inadequacy of COVID-19 vaccines amid hastily rising infection rates across the division.

“The 4,468 citizens, who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines today in the division, include 2,487 male and 1,981 female,” Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS.

The total 5,68,829 citizens vaccinated so far with COVID-19 vaccines include 3,41,533 male and 2,27,296 female of all eight districts in the division.

The vaccine recipient citizens are feeling alright without remarkable side effects except 73 people who experienced temporary adverse events for a few minutes since launching of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign on February 7 in the division.

“The district-wise break-up of 5,68,829 vaccine recipients stands at 1,63,360 in Rangpur, 42,071 in Panchagarh, 72,350 in Nilphamari, 36,104 in Lalmonirhat, 44,429 in Kurigram, 47,264 in Thakurgaon, 1,03,610 in Dinajpur and 59,641 in Gaibandha,” Dr. Ali said.

Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu said everyone must abide by the health directives to contain the quickly rising coronavirus infection rate.
