Games to be continued at all venues: Boshir
DHAKA, April 4, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) vice president Sheikh Boshir Ahmed Mamun confirmed that the games will be continued as per scheduled at all the venues.
“The games will be continued as per scheduled at all venues …. the game which you’re thinking about, I want to make sure that the game will continue… we’ll continue the games ensuring presence of less spectators at the venue maintaining the health protocol and we’ll complete this game in accordance with the health protocol ……we have a discussion with the government in this issue …..we are continuing the game as per the government decision and the game will continue at all the venues Inshallah,” said Boshir to the pressmen after the prize distribution ceremony of gymnastic event held at National Sports Council gymnasium.
The government on Sunday issued a notification announcing a one-week lockdown to control the COVID-19 transmission. After that speculation started about the future of the games. Will the Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games end before the scheduled time or before the lockdown starts. Finally, the good news is that this game in the name of the Father of the Nation will continue.
