Army chief inaugurates exercise ‘Shantir Ogroshena-2021’

DHAKA, April 4, 2021 (BSS) – Army chief General Aziz Ahmed today inaugurated multinational military exercise “Shantir Ogroshena-2021” (Front Runner of Peace) at Bangabandhu Cantonment in Tangail to commemorate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and mark glorious 50 years of Bangladesh’s Independence.

The theme of the exercise is Robust Peacekeeping Operations.

Indian Army contingent of 30 personnel from the Dogra Regiment are taking part in the exercise, said an ISPR press release.

Apart from the Indian Army, 33 personnel from the Royal Bhutan Army and 30 from Sri Lankan Army are also participating in the event.

A total 19 military observers from the USA, the UK, Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Singapore are also attending the exercise.

The event will be concluded on April 12.
