RAJSHAHI, April 3, 2021 (BSS) – With the recovery of 13 more coronavirus infected persons on Friday, the total number of cured patients from the virus (Covid-19) reached 24,818 in the division, said an official report today.
A total of 3,120 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at designated hospitals here, it said.
Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of health, said the death toll from the virus rose to 413, including 264 in Bogura and 56 in Rajshahi, with no fatality reported afresh today.
Besides, all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 6,830 were kept in isolation units of different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 6,038 have already been released.
Meanwhile, with the detection of 66 new positive cases in four districts here on Friday, the afresh infection figure shows a slight falling trend compared to the previous day’s figure of 99, the total number of infected patients rose to 27,072, Dr Habibul said.
Of the new positive cases, the highest 25 were detected in Sirajganj, followed by 20 in Rajshahi including 18 in its city, 19 in Bogura and two in Pabna districts.
With the newly detected cases, the district-wise break-up of the COVID-19 patients now stand at 6,593 in Rajshahi including 5,073 in its city, 844 in Chapainawabganj, 1,718 in Naogaon, 1,325 in Natore, 1,417 in Joypurhat, 10,447 in Bogura, 2,917 in Sirajganj and 1,811 in Pabna.
On the other hand, 14 more persons have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while another was released from quarantine in the division over the last 24 hours till 8 am today.
A total of 67,229 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 last year to prevent community transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Of them, 65,888 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their respective 14-day quarantine period.
Meanwhile, a total of 6,07,287 people have been vaccinated for Covid-19 in all eight districts of Rajshahi division till Thursday last since the countrywide vaccination programme began on February 7.
Of them, 6,333 people including 2,723 females were inoculated on Thursday, said Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder.
He also said 1,006 people including 437 females received vaccines in Rajshahi, 217 including 86 females in Chapainawabganj, 221 including 81 females in Natore, 1,461 including 685 females in Naogaon Thursday.
Besides, a total of 651 persons including 279 females got vaccines in Pabna, 523 including 224 females in Sirajganj, 1,087 including 453 females in Bogura, 937 including 382 females in Joypurhat and 230 including 96 females in Rajshahi city on the day, he added.
