TREE PLANTATION-JAMALPUR
Tree plantation begins in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR, July 18, 2018 (BSS) – Tree plantation programme aiming to
planting 54 thousand saplings in the district began today in this rainy
season.
Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kabir inaugurated the tree plantation programme
at Jamalpur High School compound in the town as the chief guest.
Mayor of Jamalpur Municipality Mirza Sakhawatul Alam Moni presided over the
inaugural function. Superintendent of Police Md Delwar Hossain and Vice-
president of the district Awami League Syed Atiqur Rahman Sana, among others,
spoke at the meeting.
A total of 54,000 saplings of fruit, medicinal and timber trees will be
planted in seven upazilas in the district in honour to the martyrs of the
Liberation War.
