DHAKA, April 2, 2021 (BSS) – Fisheries and Livestock Minister Rezaul Karim today called on the country’s private industrial entrepreneurs to invest more in the processing of agricultural products.
“Agriculture has a lot of potential in alleviating poverty and improving the quality of life…. If agriculture is developed, the overall development of the country will be further accelerated, so private entrepreneurs should invest more in the processing of agricultural products,” he said.
“Industrialization will also be accelerated by increasing employment and income of rural people and expanding the domestic market,” he added.
The minister was speaking at a programme of ‘ACI Dipta Krishi Award 2020’ ceremony at Dipta Television Studio in city’s Tejgaon area, said a press release.
Agricultural Minister M Abdur Razzak. Managing Director of Dipta Television Kazi Jahedul Hasan and Managing Director of ACI Agrobusiness Dr Ansari were present, among others.
“Fish, meat, milk and eggs are easily available in the country today owing to the visionary role of Sheikh Hasina and the advancement of the private sector,” said Rezaul Karim.
The award was given in a total of 10 categories to encourage farmers, ranchers, creative inventors, talented researchers and successful agri-entrepreneurs.
