KHULNA, April 2, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 39 people were detained and 189 people fined by separate mobile courts here for not wearing face masks in the city and district with a view to preventing the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
According to Khulna district administration’s media cell, separate mobile courts led by Khulna deputy commissioner and district magistrate Md Helal Hossain conducted drives in different city and upazilas from Thursday morning till this afternoon arrested 39 people for not wearing masks, not to maintain health guidelines and to obstruct activities of mobile court.
The court also fined Taka 75,500 from a total of 189 people for not wearing face masks.
“District administration is continuing drives and regular campaign for preventing coronavirus with a slogan ‘no masks, no service, and to abide health guidelines and government direction,” said executive magistrate and assistant commissioner of district administration Debashish Basak to BSS today.
“We are conducting drives regularly led by executive magistrates,” he said, adding that we are also distributing face masks to the people during drives.
Law enforcement agencies were present during drives, he added.
