RAJSHAHI, April 1, 2021 (BSS) – With the recovery of 17 more coronavirus
infected persons on Wednesday, the total number of cured patients from the
virus (Covid-19) reached 24,790 in the division, said an official report
today.
A total of 3,109 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at
designated hospitals here, it said.
Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of health, said the death
toll from the virus rose to 411, including 262 in Bogura and 56 in Rajshahi,
with two more fatalities reported afresh today.
Besides, all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been brought
under necessary treatment while 6,779 were kept in isolation units of
different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 6,030 have
already been released.
Meanwhile, with the detection of 129 new positive cases in seven
districts here on Wednesday, the afresh infection figure shows a significant
surging trend compared to the previous day’s figure of 102, the total number
of infected patients rose to 26,907, Dr Habibul said.
Of the new positive cases, the highest 35 were detected each in Rajshahi
city and Bogura, followed by 22 in Naogaon, 15 in Natore, 13 in Sirajganj,
eight in Joypurhat and one in Pabna districts.
With the newly detected cases, the district-wise break-up of the COVID-
19 patients now stand at 6,518 in Rajshahi including 5,000 in its city, 844
in Chapainawabganj, 1,713 in Naogaon, 1,317 in Natore, 1,410 in Joypurhat,
10,417 in Bogura, 2,882 in Sirajganj and 1,806 in Pabna.
On the other hand, 173 more persons have been sent to home and
institutional quarantine afresh while 39 were released from quarantine in the
division over the last 24 hours till 8 am today.
A total of 67,121 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since
March 10 last year to prevent community transmission of the coronavirus
(COVID-19).
Of them, 65,858 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance
certificates after completing their respective 14-day quarantine period.
On the other hand, a total of 6,00,954 people have been vaccinated for
Covid-19 in all eight districts of Rajshahi division till Wednesday last
since the countrywide vaccination programme began on February 7.
Of them, 8,236 people including 3,522 females were inoculated on
Wednesday, said Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder.
He also said 1,406 people including 559 females received vaccines in
Rajshahi, 485 including 205 females in Chapainawabganj, 559 including 230
females in Natore, 1,233 including 556 females in Naogaon Wednesday.
Besides, a total of 984 persons including 404 females got vaccines in
Pabna, 989 including 438 females in Sirajganj, 1,803 including 804 females in
Bogura, 503 including 201 females in Joypurhat and 214 including 124 females
in Rajshahi city on the day, he added.
