RANGPUR, April 1, 2021 (BSS) – A mobile court in an anti-adulteration
drive seized huge fake antibiotic medicines from a pharmacy worth Taka 18
lakh and penalised its owner Taka one-lakh in the city on Wednesday night.
“The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) with
assistance of the Drug Administration initiated the mobile court led by
Executive Magistrate Mahmudul Hasan Mridha to stop marketing of fake and
adulterated products in the city,” said a press release.
The mobile court seized huge fake antibiotic medicines like Azithromycin
and Amoxicillin from Fahim Pharmacy at Anwara Medicine Market in Paira
Chattar area of the city and arrested its owner Nahid Islam Fahim, 25, from
the spot.
Later, the mobile court fined Fahim Taka one-lakh on the spot and
destroyed the seized fake and adulterated medicines.
