Khaleda’s appearance in 11 cases on June 9
DHAKA, March 31, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today set June 9 for the appearance of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia before it in 11 cases lodged against her.
Acting Judge Robiul Alam of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court passed the order allowing a time plea from the defence.
Earlier, Khaleda’s counsel filed the plea, saying proceedings of most of the cases have been stayed by the High Court.
Of the 11 cases, eight were filed with Darus Salam Police Station for carrying out subversive activities, and two others were filed with Jatrabari Police Station. Ten cases were filed by police, while the sedition case was filed against the BNP chief by a person.
The court is scheduled to hold hearing on charge framing in 10 of those cases and to accept charge-sheet in one case filed with Jatrabari Police Station.
