Army, Dhaka district, Navy register big in men’s hockey
DHAKA, March 31, 2021 (BSS)- Bangladesh Army, Dhaka district and
Bangladesh Navy won their respective men’s hockey opening matches of the
Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games Hockey that has begun from today at Moulana
Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
In the day’s match, Bangladesh Army crushed Cumilla district by 21-0
goals.
Milon Hossain was the highest scorer with eight goals for Army and Abdul
Malek and Manik Uddin scored three goals each while Tanjim Ahmed, Ahsan
Habib, Rokunuzzaman Shohag, Mamun Mai, Mehedi Hasan, Noor Alom and Khorshed
Alom netted one goal each for Army in the one-sided affairs.
In the day’s another match, Dhaka district defeated Chattogram district
by 5-3 goals.
In the proceeding, Parvez Hossain and Maksud Alom Habul scored twice
each while Dwin Islam supported them with a lone goal for Dhaka. Tahamid
Haque, Joy Chakrawarty and Mahbub Islam scored one goal each for Chattogram.
In another match, Bangladesh Navy drubbed Kurigram district by 10-0
goals.
In the day’s match, Ashraful Islam scored three goals and Jamil Bin
Talib scored a brace while Mahbub Hossain, Fazle Hossain Rabbi, Abed Uddin,
Roman Sarkar and Kamruzzaman scored one goal each for Navy.
Besides, Bangladesh Police got walkover against Dhaka Education Board
and as per the bylaws Police were declared 2-0 winners’.
