DHAKA, March 31, 2021 (BSS) – Former Vice Chancellor of the National University Professor Harun-ur-Rashid Dr has been nominated for the Bangabandhu Chair at the South Asia Institute of the University of Heidelberg.
He was nominated to the German institute for conducting higher level research, said a press release.
A total of 19 senior teachers of different public universities have applied for nomination in the Heidelberg Bangabandhu Chair.
A six-member jury board, including a representative from the University of Heidelberg, selected Prof Harun and nominated him for the Bangabandhu chair.
The name of Prof Harun was announced today at an online event organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen in the chair.
German Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Fahren Holpoy, UGC Chairman Prof Kazi Shahidullah, UGC members and Bangladesh Ambassador to Germany Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan also attended the event.
