Govt to give financial aid to 1cr poor to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr
DHAKA, March 31, 2021 (BSS) – The government will provide financial assistance to more than 1 crore helpless and poor families on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the greatest religious festivals of the Muslims, in the Mujib Year.
Financial assistance will be provided to 1 crore 9 thousand 949 families. The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has allocated Taka 450 crore 44 lakh 77 thousand 50 for this purpose, said a press release here today.
Under the Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) programme, 87 lakh 79 thousand 203 VGF cards for 492 upazilas of 64 districts and 12 lakh 30 thousand 746 VGF cards for 328 municipalities were allotted, the release added.
Financial assistance will be provided to helpless, destitute and extreme poor families to celebrate the upcoming holy Eid.
In this case, priority will be given to the distressed and extremely poor families and those who are affected by the recent natural calamities.
