Holy Shab-e-Barat observed in Ctg

CHATTOGONG, March 30, 2021 (BSS) – The holy Shab-e-Barat, the night of fortune and forgiveness, was observed in the city as elsewhere in the district on Monday night with due religious fervor and devotion.

Thousands of the Muslims offered “nafl” prayers in the city and district at mosques and homes and recited from the holy Quran in observance of the most
meaningful nights of forgiveness, fortune, hopes and aspirations maintaining government’s health directives.

Religious organizations including Islamic Foundation, Chattogram here chalked out nightlong programmes including discussion, Milad and Zikir Mahfil maintaining health rules on the occasion.

Muslim devotees passed the night at mosques and homes offering special prayers, holding zikir, milad mahfils, reciting from the holy Quran and other religious rituals in observance the meaningful night.

A good number of muslim devotees visited shrines of saints and offered munajat for their salvation and distributed sweets and homemade foods like ruti and halua among the poor, neighbors and friends.

They also sought divine blessings of Almighty Allah for long life, peace, progress and happiness for themselves, family members, relatives and well- wishers, eternal peace for their departed parents and generations as well as the nation and the Muslim Ummah.

Improved diets were also served in jails, hospitals, orphanages and juveniles centres, run by the social welfare department.

The local newspapers published special articles while Chattogram centres of Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar aired special programmes focusing the significance of the holy night.

Meanwhile, law enforcers took tight security measures in and around all Mosques and Mazars of the city for performing smooth and peaceful prayers of the Muslim devotees on the holy Shab-e-Barat.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) kept constant vigil around the mosques and mazars to avert any untoward situation.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) imposed a ban on blasting of all kinds of explosives and fireworks on the holy night.
