KHULNA, MARCH 29, 2021(BSS) – Khulna city corporation mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque here today asked government officials, law enforcement agencies to take stern action against the violators of health safety guidelines and other rules set by the government to prevent the sudden surge of COVID-19
“Everybody must wear face mask, maintain social distance, use regular sanitizers and abide by health guidelines as infection rate is increasing ,” he made the remarks while addressing as chief guest at the Corona virus Prevention District Committee meeting held at Khulna deputy commissioner’s (DC) conference room.
Md Kamal Hossain, Cabinet division secretary (Coordination and Reformation), virtually joined the meeting while Khulna DC Md Helal Hossain in the chair.
The mayor also asked deputy commissioners to shut down all coaching centers and urged the medical students to come with only one guardian in the examination centre on April 2.
Dr A T M Monjur Morshed, director of Khulna Medical College (KMC) underscored the importance of keeping 102 bed corona unit KMC with adequate equipment including uninterrupted oxygen supply .
The DC Md Helal Hossain said nobody will arrange mass gathering programme without permission from local administration.
KMC vice-principal Dr Mehedi Newaz, Superintendent of Police Md Mahbub Hasan, deputy director of local government department Md Iqbal Hossain, additional district commissioner Yousup Hossain, among others, addressed the meeting.
