DHAKA, March 28, 2021 (BSS)- Bangladesh take on host Nepal in the final match of Tri-Nation Cup scheduled to be held tomorrow (Monday) at Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu.

The match kicks off at 5.30 pm (NST).

The Jamal Bhuyan and Co. played an impressive football throughout the
tournament so far more than the expectation and they must be aiming to carry
out the same performance in the final match to clinch the trophy.

Bangladesh did not win any major trophy after the 2003 SAFF Championship
held in Dhaka, so it’s a good opportunity for Jamie Day’s men to win the
trophy of the Tri-Nation Cup.

But, it’s matter of regret for the football fans that Bangladesh failed to
break the jinx of their trophy drought in the last one and half decade in
International football. The tri Nation is not a big tournament but it must be
a matter of prestige for Jamal Bhuyan to win the trophy.

Where neighboring country India is getting success in international level
and Nepal won the trophy of Bangabandhu Cup but Bangladesh is still trophy
less on the other hand. So it’s a good chance for Bangladesh to win the
trophy of the tournament though it will not be easy for Jamie Day’s men as
Nepal is always tough rivals in their home soil.

Bangladesh earlier confirmed their spot of final with four points
following their 1-0 win against Kyrgyzstan Olympic team in the tournament
opening match and played out to a goalless draw with host Nepal.

On way to the final, Nepal earlier shared one point with Kyrgyzstan
playing to a goalless draw and confirmed the final spot with playing again to
a goalless draw with Bangladesh in their last match of the round robin
league.

Prior to the tomorrow’s final match, Bangladesh may take inspiration from
the FIFA Friendly series against Nepal held last year in Dhaka with
Bangladesh won the series 1-0. Bangladesh won the first match by 2-0 goals
and played out to a goalless draw in the second match.

Meanwhile, the winners’ and runners-up will bag prizes of US$5,000 and
US$3,000 respectively while the best player will have US$500.
