5,37,019 citizens get COVID-19 vaccines in Rangpur

RANGPUR,Mar 28,2021(BSS)–The number of COVID-19 vaccine recipients reached 5,37,019 with inoculation of 7,742 more people today in Rangpur division.

“The 7,742 citizens, who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines today in the division, include 4,470 male and 3,272 female,” Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS.

Of the total 5,37,019 citizens vaccinated so far with COVID-19 vaccines include 3,24,054 male and 2,12,965 female of all eight districts in the division.

“All vaccine recipients are leading normal life without remarkable side effects with the exception of 73 people who experienced temporary adverse affects for a few minutes since February 7 in the division,” Dr. Ali said.

The district-wise break-up of 5,37,019 vaccine recipients stands at 1,53,422 in Rangpur, 37,982 in Panchagarh, 69,340 in Nilphamari, 33,854 in Lalmonirhat, 42,394 in Kurigram, 45,905 in Thakurgaon, 97,826 in Dinajpur and 56,296 in Gaibandha of the division.

“Since launching of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign on February 7 last, registered citizens are eagerly rushing to the vaccination centers daily to take the vaccines across the division” Dr. Ali added.

Talking to BSS, Chief of Divisional Corona virus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu said people even after vaccination must abide by the health safety guidelines to check the rising COVID-19 infection rate.
