BCL protests countrywide anarchy, unrest on Independence day

DHAKA, March 27, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) today staged a demonstration on Dhaka University campus, protesting the countrywide unrest and anarchy on the Independence Day by some fundamentalists and anti-liberation forces.

Leaders and activists of BCL, led by its president Al Nahiyan khan Joy and General Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee, brought out a protest procession from the premises of university’s Madhur Canteen this afternoon.

After paroling key points of the campus, the procession ended with a short rally at the footstep of Anti-Terror Raju Memorial Sculpture at Teacher-Student Center on DU campus.

While addressing BCL president Al Nahiyan khan Joy said, fundamentalists and anti-Liberation forces created anarchy and unrest across the country on March 26, the day of Independence, when the country is celebrating the golden jubilee of its independence.

“They are doing such barbarism as they are yet to accept the independence of the country. We want exemplary punishment to all cuprites involved in such countywide vandalism,” he added.

DU BCL President Sonjit Chandra Das, General Secretary Saddam Hussein, leaders and activists of BCL different units took part in the procession.
