150 poor students of a Mirpur school get smartphones

DHAHA, March 27, 2021 (BSS)- On the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence, a total of 150 poor meritorious students of a Mirpur high school received smartphones from State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder.

The state minister gifted the mobile phones today at a function organized by Monipur High School and College in the capital’s Rupnagar area on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ‘s birth centenary, National Children’s Day and Golden Jubilee of Independence, said a press release.

He said , these meritorious students of today will lead the country tomorrow to build a prosperous ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Digital Bangladesh envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Two hundred more students would be given smartphones of the same school so that their educational activities would be continued online, he added.

Mentioning that the development march of Bangladesh is exemplary in the world, Kamal Ahmed Mojumder said, although the world economy has been affected by the global pandemic coronavirus, Bangladesh is still ahead in various indicators including the economy. And this has been possible due to the prudent leadership of Sheikh Hasina, he remarked.

Teachers, students and members of the governing body of the school, among others, were present, at the function following the health guidelines.
