8th Int’l conference on Water and Flood management begins March 29
DHAKA, March 27, 2021 (BSS) – The 8th International Conference on Water and
Flood Management (ICWFM-2021) will begin on March 29 at Bangladesh University
of Engineering and Technology (BUET) virtually.
The three-day conference, organised by university’s Institute of Water and
Flood Management (IWFM), will be inaugurated by the Minister for Water
Resources Mr Zaheed Farooque, said a press release.
BUET Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Satya Prasad Majumder will preside
over the inaugural session while Deputy Minister for water resources AKM
Enamul Hoque Shameem and BUET Pro-VC Dr Abdul Jabbar Khan will be present as
special guests.
A total of 217 papers will be presented at the conference in 36 technical
sessions by the participants from 16 different countries, including
Bangladesh, Australia, Canada, China, Croatia, France, Ghana, India, Japan,
Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, the USA and the UK on different themes.
The International Conference on Water and Flood Management has been
organized by IWFM, BUET biennially since 2007.
