Jabbar inaugurates exhibition of commemorative stamps on Bangabandhu

DHAKA, March 27, 2021 (BSS) – Minister of Posts and Telecommunications
Mustafa Jabbar today virtually inaugurated an exhibition of commemorative
stamps issued on Bangabandhu in Dhaka GPO.

The exhibition was organised marking the birth centenary of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of country’s
independence, said a press release.

The exhibition will be also held in all the important post offices of the
country in phases throughout the year.

Secretary of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications M Afzal
Hossain, Director General of the Department of Posts M Siraj Uddin and
leaders of Bangladesh Philatelic organizations were present.

Referring to the commemorative stamps issued on Bangabandhu as a very
important historical asset, Jabbar said, “I do not consider stamps as a
commercial element, stamps are witness of history and it reflects the
country, nation, era and civilization.”
