DHAKA, March 27, 2021 (BSS) – Namita Ghosh, an eminent singer and the first female voice artiste of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, passed away while undergoing treatment at a city hospital on Friday night.
She was 63, said a press release here today.
Namita left behind three brothers, two sisters and a host of admirers to mourn her death.
A guard of honour was accorded to her today on Shani Mandir premises at Shakhari Bazar in the city. Later, ruling Awami League (AL) paid homage to Namita by placing a wreath on her coffin.
AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Namita Ghosh.
In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
