JU celebrates 50 years of Independence

SAVAR, March 26, 2021 (BSS)- The authorities of Jahangirnagar University
(JU) today celebrated the 50 years of Independence and National Day with due
respect and befitting manner.

Marking the day, the national flag was hoisted atop all administrative
buildings and residential halls.

On behalf of Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Farzana Islam, teachers of
the university paid tributes to the martyrs of the Great Liberation War by
placing wreaths at the National Mausoleum at Savar this morning.

During the period, JU Prof Dr. Sohel Ahmed, acting registrar Rahima Kaneez,
acting proctor ASM Firoj Ul Hasan, provosts of different dormitories and
officials of the university were present, among others.

Later, Jahangirnagar University Teachers’ Association (JUTA), JU Officers’
Club, JU Women’s Club and hall authorities also placed wreaths separately at
the National Mausoleum.

Earlier, at the beginning of the day, JU acting registrar Rahima Kaneez and
Prof ATM Atiqur Rahman hoisted the university flag in front of the new
administrative building.

Besides, the entire university campus has been illuminated with colorful
light marking the day.
