RAJSHAHI, March 26, 2021 (BSS) – With the recovery of 10 more
coronavirus infected persons on Thursday, the total number of cured patients
from the virus (Covid-19) reached 24,690 in the division, said an official
report today.
A total of 3,062 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at
designated hospitals here, it added.
Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of health, said the death
toll from the virus rose to 400, including 254 in Bogura and 55 in Rajshahi,
with no fatality reported afresh for the fifth consecutive day today.
Besides, all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been brought
under necessary treatment while 6,682 were kept in isolation units of
different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 5,999 have
already been released.
Meanwhile, with the detection of 53 new positive cases in seven
districts here on Thursday, the afresh infection figure shows a falling trend
compared to the previous day’s figure of 85, the total number of infected
patients rose to 26,386, Dr Habibul said.
Of the new positive cases, the highest 23 were detected in Rajshahi
city, followed by 16 in Bogura, six in Sirajganj, four in Natore, two in
Naogaon and one each in Joypurhat and Pabna districts.
With the newly detected cases, the district-wise break-up of the COVID-
19 patients now stand at 6,352 in Rajshahi including 4,843 in its city, 834
in Chapainawabganj, 1,666 in Naogaon, 1,285 in Natore, 1,383 in Joypurhat,
10,251 in Bogura, 2,841 in Sirajganj and 1,774 in Pabna.
On the other hand, 42 more persons have been sent to home and
institutional quarantine afresh while 25 were released from quarantine in the
division over the last 24 hours till 8 am today.
A total of 66,748 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since
March 10 last year to prevent community transmission of the coronavirus
(COVID-19).
Of them, 65,662 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance
certificates after completing their respective 14-day quarantine period.
On the other hand, a total of 5,67,180 people have been vaccinated for
Covid-19 in all eight districts of Rajshahi division till Thursday last since
the countrywide vaccination programme began on February 7.
Of them, 8,403 people including 3,861 females were inoculated on
Thursday, said Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder.
He also said 2,339 people including 1,101 females received vaccines in
Rajshahi, 738 including 366 females in Chapainawabganj, 429 including 156
females in Natore, 924 including 392 females in Naogaon Thursday.
Besides, a total of 893 persons including 432 females got vaccines in
Pabna, 760 including 298 females in Sirajganj, 1,774 including 887 females in
Bogura, 229 including 92 females in Joypurhat and 317 including 137 females
in Rajshahi city on the day, he added.
