COVID-19 vaccine recipients’ number reach 5, 22,038 in Rangpur

RANGPUR, March 25, 2021 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19)
vaccine recipient citizens rose to 5,22,038 with inoculation of more 9,417
people today in Rangpur division.

“The 9,417 citizens, who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines today
in the division, include 5,107 male and 4,310 female,” Rangpur Divisional
Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS.

The total 5,22,038 citizens vaccinated so far with COVID-19 vaccines
include 3,15,922 male and 2,06,116 female of all eight districts in the
division.

“All vaccine recipients are leading normal life without remarkable side
effects with the exception of 73 people who experienced temporary adverse
events for a few minutes since February 7 in the division,” Dr. Ali said.

The district-wise break-up of 5,22,038 vaccine recipients stands at
1,45,292 in Rangpur, 37,536 in Panchagarh, 68,340 in Nilphamari, 33,583 in
Lalmonirhat, 42,061 in Kurigram, 45,510 in Thakurgaon, 96,250 in Dinajpur and
53,466 in Gaibandha of the division.

“A large number of registered citizens are eagerly rushing to the
vaccination centers daily to take the vaccines since launching of the COVID-
19 vaccination campaign on February 7 last,” Dr. Ali added.

Talking to BSS, Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention
Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM
Nurunnobi Lyzu said people must abide by the health directives as the
infection rate continues rising again.
