DHAKA, March 24, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sentenced five persons including a woman in a case lodged over murder of her boyfriend Sohel in Dhaka’s Dhamrai area in 2011.
The death-row-convicts are Shilpi Akter, Ismail, Abdul Majid, Nur Alam and Sumon.
Dhaka Second Additional Sessions Judge Ismat Jahan pronounced the judgement today, prosecutor Shakila Jiasmin Mitu told BSS.
According to the case documents, Shilpi’s husband used to live in Saudi Arabia and she got involved in an illicit relation with Sohel. The other convicts too used to have affairs with her. On September 18, 2011, Shilpi called Sohel and brought him to her home, where she along with the others, killed him.
Sohel’s brother Rakibul Islam later filed the case and police after their investigation, filed charge-sheet against the five. After examining 15 out of the total 17 witnesses, the court today came up with the judgement.
