BEZA inks land lease agreement with Uttara Motors
DHAKA, March 24, 2021 (BSS)- Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) today signed a land lease agreement with Uttara Motors Ltd. to set up an industrial factory at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpanagar (BSMSN) to manufacture and assemble vehicles.
Under the agreement, Uttara Motors Limited will be allotted 50 acres of developed land with the aim of assembling and manufacturing vehicles at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpanagar, said a press release.
Chairman and Managing Director of Uttara Group of Companies Matiur Rahman and General Manager of BEZA Md. Moniruzzaman signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at the BEZA office.
BEZA Executive Chairman Paban Chowdhury attended the agreement signing ceremony.
In his speech, Paban Chowdhury said more land have been earmarked in the industrial city for other car manufacturers.
This has created an opportunity to manufacture private cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles in the country and BEZA wants to utilize this opportunity, he added.
He further said that the manufactured cars, equipment and parts can be sold not only in the Bangladeshi market but also exported to the neighboring countries.
