78 disabled students get incentives in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, March 24, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 78 disabled students in different grades received scholarship and financial incentive from the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Dinajpur ‘on the occasion of Mujib Barsho’.
The scholarship and financial incentives were provided to 78 disabled students in collaboration with the Education Board Employees Union and the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Dinajpur.
Chairman of the Dinajpur Education Board Professor Abu Bakr Siddique distributed the financial incentives to the students at board meeting room this afternoon.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of the board said the disabled in the past, were neglected and treated as burden for the society. They used to commit various criminal offenses and now Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the responsibility to turn disabled section of people into skilled manpower in the country.
“ Prime Minister’s daughter Saima Wazed Putul is working for autism in the country and our social responsibility is to treat them well. If they are loved, treated and well taken they could be made as responsible people of the society.
He further said that parents of students with disabilities should be given equal opportunities in sports, entertainment and other social events.
Dinajpur Board of Education Secretary Professor Aminul Haque Sarkar, College Inspector Professor Faraj Uddin Talukder, School Inspector Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, Deputy Secretary, Abdur Razzak, President of the Board of Education Employees Union Alhaj Masud Alam, General Secretary Golam Rabbani, Vice-President Shahidul Islam Khan, among others, spoke on the occasion.
The beneficiaries’ students are – 18 meritorious students who passed the JSC examination in 2019, 31 students who passed the SSC examination in 2020 and 27 students who passed the HSC examination in 2020.
Each student received TK 10,000 as incentives.
