COVID-19 vaccine recipients’ number reach 4,99,893 in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Mar 23, 2021 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19)
vaccine recipient citizens rose to 4,99,893 with inoculation of more 11,858
people today in Rangpur division.

“The 11,858 citizens, who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines
today in the division, include 6,219 male and 5,639 female,” Rangpur
Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS here this evening.

The total 4,99,893 citizens vaccinated so far with COVID-19 vaccines
include 3,04,005 male and 1,95,888 female of all eight districts in the
division.

“All vaccine recipients are leading normal life without remarkable side
effects with the exception of 72 people who experienced temporary adverse
events for a few minutes since February 7 in the division,” Dr. Ali said.

The district-wise break-up of 4,99,893 vaccine recipients stands at
1,33,385 in Rangpur, 36,793 in Panchagarh, 66,630 in Nilphamari, 32,214 in
Lalmonirhat, 40,632 in Kurigram, 44,640 in Thakurgaon, 94,111 in Dinajpur and
51,488 in Gaibandha of the division.

“A large number of registered citizens are rushing to the vaccination
centers daily to take the vaccines with huge enthusiasm since launching of
the COVID-19 vaccination campaign on February 7 last,” Dr. Ali added.

Talking to BSS, Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention
Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM
Nurunnobi Lyzu said people should abide by the health directives as the
COVID-19 infection rate is rising again.
