DHAKA, March 23, 2021 (BSS) – The Communist Party of China (CPC) has extended its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for the people of Bangladesh and the ruling Awami League (AL) on the occasion of the country’s golden jubilee of independence.

It was 50 years ago Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman founded Bangladesh while now it reaches a crucial stage of national development and is marching toward the realization of the ‘Sonar Bangla’ dream under the leadership of AL, said a press release of CPC here on Friday.

“Rejoicing in the outstanding achievements Bangladesh has made over the past five decades, we salute the Awami League for its important contribution to the independence, development, and progress of the nation,” the release said.

It said both the CPC and the Awami League shoulder the lofty responsibility of realizing the dream of national development and creating a better life for all.

“We at the CPC stand ready to work with the Awami League to implement the important consensus reached between leaders of our two parties and two countries as we make concerted efforts to build a new type of party-to-party relations that seeks to expand common ground while reserving differences and enhances mutual respect and mutual learning,” said the release.

“What we do together will go a long way towards providing political guidance for the alignment of our development strategies, the promotion of our Belt and Road cooperation, and the deepening of China-Bangladesh strategic cooperative partnership,” it said.

The CPC also wished Bangladesh success and prosperity and its people happiness.

Since March 17, Bangladesh is staging a 10-day special programme marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the country’s independence.
