Bangladesh moves towards development: Muhith
DHAKA, July 17, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh is moving towards development through proper utilization of limited resources, funds and technologies, said Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Monday.
“Wiliness is essential to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are moving forward by involving all people of Bangladesh,” he said while delivering the keynote speech at a sideline event of the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) of the United Nations (UN) at Millennium Hilton Hotel in New York, said a press release here today.
Muhith said Bangladesh joined the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) for various economic limitations. “But now, we are moving towards development by overcoming the economic limitations,” he added.
He urged the world community to come forward for facing the challenges of climate change.
The finance minister called upon the world community to be more alert in using renewable energy.
Among others, Economic Relations Division Secretary Kazi Shofiqul Azam and Regional Director for the UNDP Asia and Pacific Region and UN Assistant Secretary General Haoliang Xu were present at the event.
