Sunamganj residents demand punishment of Shalla attackers
DHAKA, March 22, 2021 (BSS) – The people of Sunamganj today staged a rally
to press home five-point demand including immediate trial of all the
culprits, involved with the heinous attack on Hindu community at Shalla
upazila on May 17.
The people from all strata of life brought out the protest rally under the
banner ‘The aggrieved people of Sunamganj’ in front of the public library at
capital’s Shahbagh this afternoon. Their five point demand also include
providing compensations to the victim’s family from the state and bringing
all the people, who were behind the incident, to the book.
“We condemn the heinous attack on Hindu community and demand exemplary
punishment of the terrorists”, said advocate of Supreme Court Subrata Das
Khokon while addressing the rally as the chief guest.
Poet and Writer Alamgir Shahrier, Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra
League (BCL) Wasim Akram and BCL Deputy International Affairs Secretary Mihir
Das, among others, addressed the programme.
