Khaled Bhuiyan indicted in two cases

DHAKA, March 21, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today framed charges against
former Jubo League leader Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan in two cases lodged under
foreign exchange regulation act and narcotics act.

Dhaka Additional 3rd Metropolitan Sessions Judge framed the charges in the cases
and set June 1 to start recording deposition of the witnesses.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-3 arrested Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan from his
Gulshan residence on September 18, 2019, for allegedly running an illegal casino
in the city’s Fakirapool area. The law enforcing agency also seized illegal weapons,
yaba and huge cash including foreign currencies from his residence.

RAB handed him over to Gulshan Police Station on September 19, afternoon.

RAB filed three cases, one for possessing illegal arms, one under narcotics control
act and one under Money Laundering Prevention Act against Khaled.

While Criminal Investigation Agency (CID) on February 18, 2020, filed the case
under foreign exchange regulation act with Gulshan Police Station.
