111 more test positive for COVID-19 in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, March 21, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 111 people were tested
positive in sudden raising trend for Coronavirus in the last 24 hours after
testing 910 samples at four COVID-19 laboratories in the district. The
infection rate is 12.2 percent.
This is the highest coronavirus infection rate in the last three months in
Chattogram.
The health expert of Chattogram urged people to follow health rules and
use masks due to increase in Corona infections here.
Among the newly detected patients, 100 are from Chattogram city and 11 from
different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
With the new infection, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases
in the district crossed 37,551 marks, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of
Chattogram, said today.
Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS that among the total 37,551
coronavirus infected persons, 29,710 are the residents of the port city and
the rest 7841 are residents of different upazilas of the district.
“The number of cured patients from the lethal virus infection has reached
33,427 in the Chattogram district with the recovery of 50 more patients on
Saturday,” Dr Rabbi said, adding that the percentage of recovery rate stands
at 89.34.
A total of 1048 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at
designated hospitals here, the health official mentioned.
The death toll from the virus rose to 383 with no fatality reported afresh
in the last 24 hours, Dr Rabbi said. Among the reported fatalities, 281 were
the residents of the port city and the rest 102 were from different upazilas
of the district.
