4,66,251 get COVID-19 vaccines in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, March 20, 2021 (BSS) – The number of COVID-19 vaccine recipients
rose to 4,66,251 as 8,566 people were inoculated today in Rangpur division.

“Among the vaccine receivers today, 4,662 were male and 3,904 female,”
Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS.

Of the total vaccine receivers in the division, 2,86,268 are male and
1,79,983 female.

“All vaccine recipients are leading normal life without remarkable side
effects,” Dr Ali said.

The district-wise break-up of vaccine recipients stands at 1,15,832 in
Rangpur, 35,428 in Panchagarh, 63,880 in Nilphamari, 31,137 in Lalmonirhat,
38,720 in Kurigram, 43,326 in Thakurgaon, 90,532 in Dinajpur and 47,396 in
Gaibandha of the division.

Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and
Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu said
the vaccination campaign continues smoothly at government hospitals in the
division.

“Common people should abide by the health directives to check the spread of
COVID-19 as the infection rate is showing a rising trend again in the
division during the last two weeks,” Dr Lyzu added.
