PM’s contribution enormous towards country’s development: Kamal

DHAKA, March 18, 2021 (BSS) – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said Bangladesh witnessed huge development due to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s farsighted leadership.

“She, the worthy daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, developed the country with her earnest efforts,” he told the unveiling ceremony of a book on “Sheikh Hasina in Development” as the chief guest at Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU).

Sahitta Bilash and Muktijudhhar Santan Projanma Jote arranged the event marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of Independence with president of MSPJ Barrister Zakir Ahmad chaired.

Journalist and researcher Jayonta Acharjee edited the book.

Among others, lawmakers and general secretary of Gazipur district Awami League (AL) Iqbal Hossain Sabuj, Mita, Ex-vice chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Professor Kamrul Hasan, general secretary of Rajshahi district AL Abdul Wadud Dara, general secretary of Jubo Mohila League Apu Ukil, former president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Liaqat Sikder, AL leader Md Moniruzzam Monir and former general secretary of DRU Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo spoke on the occasion.

The home minister said world renowned leaders praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her outstanding contribution to the development of the country successfully.

He said world leaders and heads of the governments joined the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and wished Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she boldly assured of giving house to everyone.

Kamal said common people are getting telemedicine through digital system and the government reached healthcare to doorsteps of every corner of the country.

“Literacy rate is now increased and the Prime Minister announced to bring all under cent percent educational programme,” he said.

The minister said woman empowerment increased along with reducing gender gap with dynamic leadership of Sheikh Hasina.

“Though Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina faced hurdles many times, but she never receded from her commitment. She brought successes one by one,” he said.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working only for people’s welfare of the country, the minister said.
