BGB to take on Police Handball Club in final Sunday

DHAKA, March 18, 2021 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will take on
Bangladesh Police Handball Club in the men’s division final of Independence
Day Handball competition (man and woman) scheduled to be held on Sunday
(March 21) at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium.

The match will kick off at 10:30 am, following the women’s division final
match between Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party and Bangladesh
police handball club that will begin at 9 am.

Meanwhile, in the day’s men’s division matches, Bangladesh Police Handball
Club beat Dhaka Divisional Sports Association by 37-18 goals after leading
the first half by 16-13 goals while BGB defeated Bangladesh Ansar and Village
Defense Party by 34-24 goals after dominating the first half by 18-11 goals.

A total of nine teams, including five of men’s and four of women’s, are
taking part in the eight-day meet, organized by Bangladesh Handball
Federation (BHF).

The competition is being held marking the birth centenary of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The participating teams:

Men’s teams: Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party, Chapainawabganj
District Sports Association, Dhaka Divisional Sports Association, Border
Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Police Handball Club.

Women’s teams: Bangladesh Ansar, Bangladesh Police Handball Club, Jamalpur
Sports Academy and Nasrul Hamid Sports Academy.
