Tomorrow’s Bangabandhu Birth Centenary celebration theme ‘Jotokal Robe Padma Jamuna’

DHAKA, March 18, 2021 (BSS) – Nation will celebrate the third day of the ten-day programme of the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and golden jubilee of the Independence with the theme ‘Jotokal Robe Padma Jamuna’.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside the function at the National Parade Ground in the city while Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa will be present as guest of honour.

The program will begin with national anthem, recitation from Holy books, theme song of Mujib Borsho and display video on the theme of ‘Jotokal Robe Padma Jamuna’.

After the welcome address, Professor Syed Manjurul Islam will take part at the discussion on theme. At the discussion session, a recorded video message of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey V Lavrov will be played.

Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa will deliver his speech and after that, “Sraddha Swarak” (souvenir of tributes) will be handed over to the distinguished guests.

The first session of the function will be concluded with the speech of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

At the cultural function, a recorded cultural function of friendly country Sri Lanka will be played. The function will be completed with the video animation on ‘Mujib Chirantan’, CG animation based on the theme, poetry recitation, folk song on Bangabandhu and Bangladesh, dance, Sandhya Mukherjee’s song and mixed music performance by two generations of artistes.

The event will be held from 4.30pm to 8pm. The function will be held maintaining the health rules due to COVID-19 pandemic and 500 invited guests from home and abroad will be present at the National Parade Ground.
