101st birth anniversary of Bangabandhu celebrated in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, March 17, 2021 (BSS) – The 101st birth anniversary
of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the
National Children Day-2021 was celebrated in the district today
with due respect and festivity.
Marking the day, the district administration, Awami League
(AL), educational institutions and other organisations are
celebrating the day holding different programmes including
hoisting national flags in all government and non government
offices, placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the
Khulna Road intersection of the city this morning.
A children’s rally and cake cutting was also held at Shaheed
Abdur Razzak Park in the city on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) SM Mostafa Kamal, Superintendent of
Police( SP) Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, former Muktijoddha
Commander Mashiur Rahman Mashu, Upazila Parishad Chairman
Asaduzzaman Babu and other district administration, Muktijoddha
Sangsad and public representatives were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, a drawing and handwriting competition for children
was held at district Press Club Hall room. At the end of the
competition, prizes were distributed among the winning children.
AK Fazlul Haque, acting president of the district Awami League
(AL) and former MP, was present there as the chief guest.
President of Satkhira Press Club Mamtaz Ahmed Bapi presided
over the function. Alhaj Nazrul Islam, Chairman of Zila Parishad
and General Secretary of Zila Awami League, and Asaduzzaman Babu,
Chairman of Upazila Parishad, were present as special guests.
GM Dr Nur Islam, editor of the Daily Drishtipat and former
president of the Press Club, Habibur Rahman Habib, vice-president
of the Press Club, Abdul Wazed Kochi, former vice-president, among
others, were present on the occasion.
