DU VC urges youth to be patriotic, honest instilling Bangabandhu’s ideology

DHAKA, March 17, 2021 (BSS) – Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman today urged the country’s youth to grow up as an honest, brave and patriotic people by instilling the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“Bangabandhu was the leader of masses and he in true sense had realized and understood the demands, emotions and feelings of the mass people”, he told a discussion on the significance of Bangabandhu’s life and works at university’s Abdul Matin Virtual Classroom marking Bangabandhu’s 101st birth anniversary.

Bangabandhu did hard work in his entire life to develop the fate of country’s people, he said, adding that “Now, we are existing due to a country just for the birth of the great leader”.

Mentioning Bangabandhu’s immense contribution to country’s different sectors including education, economy, health, politics and diplomacy, Akhtaruzzaman said he (Bangabandhu) will be remain alive among the people for ages as the leader of mass people.

DU Pro-VC (admin) Professor Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Professor Momtaj Uddin Ahmed, Proctor Professor AKM Golam Rabbani, Dhaka University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) president Professor Rahmat Ullah, DUTA general secretary Professor Nijamul Haque Bhuiyan also took part in the discussion conducted by DU registrar Enamuzzaman.

Later, teachers, students and officials of the university, led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman, placed floral wreaths at the portrait of the great leader at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi.

Besides, special prayers were offered at the university’s central mosque after Zohr prayers, seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu.
