2 held with 30,100 pieces of yaba tablets in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, March 16, 2021 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
in a drive arrested two alleged drug traders with 30,100 pieces of contraband
yaba tablets from Bypass road area under Patiya upazila of the district last
night.
The arrested were identified as bus driver Nurul Alam, 26, and his
assistant Md Kaiser, 20, both hailed from Ukhiya area under Cox’s Bazar.
Police also detained a passengers’ bus in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the RAB-7 conducted a raid in the area and
nabbed Nurul Alam and Md Kaiser with the contraband drugs after searching the
passengers’ bus around 11.35 pm last night, RAB sources said.
A case was lodged with Patiya thana and the detained persons were sent to
jail today, the sources added.
