BNP leader Moudud Ahmed passes away

DHAKA, March 16, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing
committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed today died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital
in Singapore.

He was 80.

BNP chairperson’s press wing member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed his death.

“Moudud Ahmed, former law minister of BNP regime, breathed his last around
6:30pm (Bangladesh standard time) while undergoing treatment in Singapore. He
was accompanied by his wife Hasna Moudud,” he said.

On February 1, Moudud Ahmed was admitted at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in
Singapore for better treatment.

He was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital on March 9
after his condition deteriorated due to lung infection, Shairul Kabir added.

Earlier on December 30, Moudud Ahmed was admitted to Dhaka’s Evercare
Hospital with low level of haemoglobin and chest pain.
