Rajshahi clinch Inter-district Women’s Volleyball title
DHAKA, March 16, 2021 (BSS) – Rajshahi district clinched the title of
the Bangabandhu 18th Inter-district Women’s Volleyball competition beating
Pabna district by straight 3-0 sets in the final held today at Kurigram
district stadium in Kurigram.
Besides, Rajbari finished third position in the meet outplaying Khulna
district also by 3-0 set in the place-deciding encounter.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Mohammad Zakir Hossain was
the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.
Tumpa of the champion team was named the universal player of the meet
while Ajmira Khatun of the same team was adjudged the best attacker of the
meet.
Besides, Shahida Parveen Moyuri of Pabna was named the best setter of
the competition.
Earlier, on way to the final, Rajshahi district beat Khulna district by
straight 3-0 sets in the first semifinal while Pabna district defeated
Rajbari district by 3-1 sets in the second semis.
A total of twelve district teams from across the country took part in
the meet, organized by Kurigram District Sports Association.
The participating district teams are Rajbari, Rangpur, Kushtia,
Satkhira, Pabna, Bagerhat, Khulna, Rangamati, Cumilla, Jhenaidah, Rajshahi
and host Kurigram.
